Logan Laturi and Jim Winkler

Photo 1: The Christian Peace Witness for Iraq Service marked the fourth anniversary of the Iraq War, with a lamentation and a call to action to end the occupation, and words from prominent religious leaders and peace activists including Jim Wallis, Celeste Zappala, Bernice Powell Jackson and Raphael Warnock. The service was followed by a candlelit procession to the White House. Members of the Choirs of Washington National Cathedral and the gospel choir Performing Artists Under the Lord provided musical offerings. Shown placing candles at the front of the nave are Mr. Logan Laturi, Iraq War veteran and peacemaker (left), and Mr. Jim Winkler, reprenting the United Methodist Church (right). They both offered readings at the begining of the service.
