Welcome to the 27th Annual National Acolyte Festival, which will be held at the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday, October 7, 2006. The Festival Service of Holy Eucharist with Rededication of Acolytes will occur at 10:00 AM, followed by lunch and a variety of workshops and tours. Acolyte Festival commemorative items will be available in the Cathedral Museum Store. On behalf of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington and the Washington National Cathedral, we welcome you to register for this years festival, which offers special guest leaders and new workshops. Bring processional crosses, banners, torches, thuribles, flags and other liturgical items for the festive procession of acolytes. Plan to stay for lunch on the grounds and the afternoons workshops. The registration form/festival information is available for download from this website. An information-only phone number is available at (202) 537-3122 for those who do not have internet access. While we cannot return phone calls, we will be happy to respond to e-mail messages to acolytefestival@cathedral. org. Please note that due to an ongoing construction project, parking is extremely limited on the Cathedral grounds. We encourage you to consider public transportation, carpooling, or buses for travel. We look forward to welcoming your parish and diocese, your acolytes and leaders for this exciting day at our great Cathedral.
Faithfully yours, The Very Reverend Samuel T. Lloyd III The Right Reverend John Bryson Chane |
