Underground Car Parking Garage
for Worshipers and Visitors

On Sundays:
No charge for worshipers
attending services or the Sunday Forum
Parking fees may apply for non-worship activities

For convenience during your visit and out of consideration for our neighbors, if you are traveling by car, please use the underground car parking garage. Parking in the neighborhood is restricted and limited.

CAR GARAGE PARKING


  • The entrance to the underground car garage is located in the northwest corner of the Cathedral property. Access is from Wisconsin Avenue, at the traffic signal just south of Woodley Road.
  • Maximum height of vehicles that can be accommodated in the garage is 7’ 6” including rooftop accessories. No trailers or RVs are permitted in the garage or on the grounds
  • Handicap parking spaces are located on each level of the garage near the elevators.
  • Security office is located on level B1 of the garage next to the Wisconsin Ave. entrance.

6 am–4 pm $4 per hour
$16 maximum
4–11 pm $5 flat rate
Saturday
6 am–11 pm $6 flat rate
Sunday
6 am–11 pm No charge for worshipers attending services or the Sunday Forum.
Parking fees may apply for non-worship activities.
During selected events,
special pre-paid rates may apply. ($7–$10 at entry)
  • Please pull a ticket upon entrance and pay upon departure.
  • Pay station machines are conveniently located by the elevator lobbies on the B1 and B2 levels and also at the Wisconsin Avenue exit.
  • Pay machines accept cash (bills or coins) or credit cards. Credit cards or small denomination bills are preferred. All change is issued in coins.
  • Garage Hours: 6 am to 11 pm every day.

Parking on the Cathedral grounds:

All surface parking spaces on the Cathedral Close are restricted 7 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Friday. Visitors must use the underground garage during these hours.

After 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, and all day on weekends, visitors may park in legal, unreserved spaces on the surface roads of the Cathedral Close until 11 pm.

Exceptions: there is limited parking available for 7:30 am morning service worshipers (on South Road at Bethlehem Circle).

We thank you for your cooperation in adhering to all posted traffic and parking rules on the Cathedral grounds. To avoid tickets, fines or towing, please do not park in reserved spaces, along fire lanes, in undesignated parking areas, or anywhere on the surface of the Cathedral Close after 11 pm.


Handicap Parking

Handicap parking spaces, reserved for cars displaying handicap parking permits, are located on each level of the garage near the elevators. All garage handicap spaces are located near the elevators which take you to the surface in front of the Cathedral.

If you wish to get to the crypt level, a walk from the front of the Cathedral down the sidewalk on South Road will take you to the Museum Shop entrance (just before the South Transept) where there is an elevator allowing you to get to the crypt level and avoid the flight of stairs from the exterior of the Cathedral at the Way of Peace entrance close to Bethlehem Chapel.

In addition to designated parking in the garage, surface parking spaces (consult the Cathedral Close Visitor Map, pdf) been set aside on South Road close to Bethlehem chapel (near the B on the map available for download above) for cars displaying handicap parking permits.
