Summer Music at the Cathedral
JuneJuly, 2008
Summer Music at the Cathedral: Although the Cathedral did
not to host a Summer Music Festival this summer, many gathered here for for
exciting musical offerings in June and July, including programs in the
Centennial Organ Recital series featuring Jr. Reilly Lewis, Bruce Newick and Douglas Major, the Independence Day Organ Recital with
Cathedral organists Scott Dettra and Christopher Jacobson and the
YouthCue concert. Events were free and open to the public.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY, MAY 2 & 3, 2008
Enjoy Washingtons premier
spring outdoor event, sponsored by All Hallows Guild to
benefit the gardens, grounds and woodlands of Washington
National Cathedral. People came to enjoy a variety of foods, buy plants
and herbs, ride the carousel, and more! Each year one of
Washingtons embassies is honored. Flower Mart this
year celebrated the Cathedral Centennial and the Republic
of South Africa.
Centennial Gala
FRIDAY, November 9, 2007
Elegant, candlelit dinner in the
Cathedral commemorated the Cathedrals 100th anniversary
and celebrated the Cathedral as a national treasure and symbol
of our nations religious heritage. First-time-ever,
black-tie event was a beautiful and memorable
evening, as philanthropic, social, civic, and political leaders
embraced a second-century vision of the Cathedral as a church for
the nation, a place of reconciliation, and a house of prayer for
all people.
Cathedral Day / Open House
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2007, 10 am5 pm
Everyone was invited to this free
festival of music, demonstrations by Cathedral artisans,
food, childrens activities, puppet shows, tower climbs,
special tours and more.
Reunions
SEPTEMBER 2830, 2007
For three days, clergy, staff, artists,
choristers, docents, ushers, volunteers, and others who have
played important roles in the Cathedrals life reunited at
the Cathedral from around the world to participate in a weekend
of reunion events.
